I am a graduate of Syracuse University, holding a BFA with a major in illustration and fashion illustration.
After graduation from Syracuse University I went to New York City and became employed by Harper Brothers Publishing Company, followed by employment in the art department of Butterick Fashion Pattern Company. I married and came to live in Los Angeles, California, where I was employed by C.J. La Roche advertising agency.
After becoming a stay at home mother, I earned a credential to teach elementary school. I worked for seventeen years at Gridley Street Elementary School specializing in English Language Development.
After retirement from teaching I began oil painting classes at California Art Institute, in Thousand Oaks, CA. This small atelier was originally organized by the illustrator, Fred Fixler. After Fred retired, the institute continued with other professional artists and those trained by Mr. Fixler. My teachers included Neil Boyle, and Glen Orbik, but my most influential teacher has been Ryan Wurmser in the field of drawing and painting.
I am a member of the Valley Artists Guild and have won recognition and awards in both figurative and landscape categories.
I am also an associate member of Oil Painters of America and California Art Club.
